Wish we didn’t have to choose

I received an email from a person regarding these prayer campaigns. One comment she stated was, “Somehow I wish we didn’t have to “choose” between the campaigns when they are both worthy prayer goals.” Her comment is legitimate and one I’m sure is shared by many. Here was my response to her concern.

I’m keenly aware of the potentially overwhelming requests that come from folks/groups and that it can actually cause anxiety for many because they all come with good intentions.  It’s okay to not have to be involved in everything.  It’s probably better in the long run.  Better to focus on one or two and give it 100% versus 10% on many things. Sometimes I think folks feel they need to offer separate prayers for every intention.

In the case of the Bishop Campaign and the Save the Baby Campaign I could certainly see folks combining them together and praying the rosary for both at the same time.  What’s most important is one’s intent.  God knows.  He knows our daily struggles but he also knows our desires and intentions.  Imagine if we had 500 people commit to praying one rosary for the Bishop Campaign and one for the Save the Baby Campaign but alternating days.  We’d still hit the goal of 10,000 for the Bishop..

Whether the goal is reached or not is not my ultimate objective.  It’s all about the prayers prayed for our Bishop.  I’ve done my part by getting it started and now I’ll rely on Jesus and Our Blessed Mother for the graces to help see this through.

I also talked about a post I wrote from my original campaign talking about “time” that you can read HERE. One of the key lines in that post was where I said, “Choose how you want to allot your daily portion.” My point is we, as individuals, can’t do everything. That’s okay. I’m just asking each of you to do something. Whether it’s joining one of these campaigns or something else. Just do something. However, whatever that “something” is, make sure it’s worthy and brings honor and glory to God.
